Bear On The Square Festival
in Downtown Dahlonega
Mark your calendar folks! Join us the third weekend in April: Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19 for the Annual Celebration of Appalachian Culture in Dahlonega, Georgia. It’s the Bear On The Square Festival! It all begins Friday night, April 17th with the Festival Kick-off Concert featuring the Lonesome River Band on the Main Stage. The Oak Grove Boys from Dahlonega will open! The concert is a fundraiser to keep all festival events free on Saturday and Sunday.
Musicians will start gathering Friday afternoon for acoustic jams that continue all weekend around the historic square. On Saturday and Sunday, the Main Stage tent will feature an extensive line-up of free concerts by nationally recognized musicians performing Bluegrass and Old-time music. In addition, one-of-a-kind, handmade items will be available from region’s best artists. More than 70 booths will surround the Historic Square and will feature a remarkable selection of textiles, pottery, woodworking and other traditional crafts. Plus, some of the best storytellers around will be on hand demonstrating that cherished Appalachian tradition, combining tall tales, moral lessons, riddles, and history.
It will truly be an event to remember, and it all begins Friday night, April 17th, and continues all weekend long! Go to BearOnThe Square.org today to learn more and to get your tickets to the Friday night Main Stage Concert featuring the Lonesome River Band. Get your tickets while they’re still available. You’ll be glad you did!
